Ford 1.0-liter engine conquers European market

EcoBoost 1,0 l illustrates the progress made by Ford and the entire auto industry as a result of the gradual improvement of the internal combustion engine – the technology that is used more than a hundred years.According to the automaker, every fifth car sold in Europe is equipped with a Ford engine. The official report of the company says that one in five European Ford is equipped with a gasoline 1.0-liter engine. Ford released over 120,000 copies of this turbocharged EcoBoost engine from January to June 2014. The boost of sale has increase by 15% if compare with the same period of 2013.

Recall that in June 1.0-liter motor won the International Engine of the Year award for the third time. At the same 1.0-liter EcoBoost scored more points than any other engine for all these years.In Europe, this engine is installed on the Ford Focus, Fiesta, B-MAX, EcoSport, C-MAX, Grand C-MAX, Tourneo Connect, Transit Connect and Transit Courier.

Engineers boast that they spent more than 5 million hours to develop and bring to mind the three-cylinder power plant. The unit based on supercar AMG GT can reach 462 or 510 hp depending on the modification.
