Ford Company set ambitious hybridization and electrification program for its vehicles

According to official data, the company Ford Motor will establish the production of hybrid and electric models at its plant in Flat Rock (Michigan). Manufacturer plans to invest 4.5 billion dollars into electric power plants development. In addition, now the volume of investments is expanded by another $ 700 million. The company also plans to build two new hybrid police cars and driverless hybrid. But it was not announced, what kind of vehicles it is going to be.

To date, the American brand also did not disclose details about the engines of hybrid cars. Representatives of the company only said that the Ford Mustang will offer “the capacity of the 8-cylinder power unit and a more accessible torque” with a smaller volume of the engine. Perhaps the hybrid power plant will include the engine 2.3 EcoBoost. Hybrid Ford Mustang will go on sale in 2020, and the eco-friendly Ford Transit will be available in Europe already in 2019.
