It will be tested sensory systems and driver assistance technologies, this car will be a research platform to develop long-term solutions to social, legal and technological problems associated with the use of fully automated automobiles. Automated experienced car uses four infrared sensors LiDAR (light detection system and ranging), scanning the surrounding area for recognition of objects – cars, pedestrians, cyclists and even small animals.

Sensors generate a map in 3D-format in real time using infrared light rays reflected from objects within about 70 meters, and calculating a distance between the car and the speed of these objects with 2.5 million samples per second. Ford plans to develop technology that would alert drivers about traffic jams and accidents; help when parking and driving in slow moving traffic flow, and ultimately, technology fully automated navigation and parking.
