Ford will release 12 sports RS cars by 2020

Ford officially announced its intention to create a whole range of sports version (RS) of their models. By 2020, the American automaker will release a total of 12 such new cars, among which will be the long-awaited Focus RS.
Ford officially unveiled in the summer of his younger brother Ford RS – modification ST. The new RS several times was “seen” during the tests, but there is still no official confirmation of its release to the market. Nevertheless, it is a fact, as Ford adamant that the Focus RS will be a global model, which will be available in all markets brand.

On the car we already know that it will use one of the engines of the new Ford Mustang – 2,3-liter EcoBoost, whose power will be around 350 hp. For comparison, Ford Focus ST is available in two versions – petrol and diesel. The first uses a 2.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with a power of 252 hp, while the second will be powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine 185 hp.

The company also announced that the sports division Ford Racing, Ford SVT and Team RS combined into a single entity called Ford Performance. Vice President Raj Nair automaker is firmly convinced that this alliance will allow the brand to market faster and new road sports model with the most modern technology.
According to the marketing of the brand, line extension Ford RS will allow the company to increase its sales worldwide. It should be noted that after the introduction of the company’s One Ford strategy interest in sports cars in Europe and the United States increased by 14 and 70%, respectively.
