New details of the next generation of Ford GT

Ford has revived plans to introduce a sports car GT at the Detroit Auto Show, which will take place in January, according to «Carscoops». The car will receive as a racing version, which will participate in various competitions, including the race 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as the civilian version. Only 1200 sports cars are scheduled to be released.
In the sale the new generation of car will go in 2016. Mid-engine sports car will get a layout. The racing version will be presented with a 3.5-liter V6 engine from the family EcoBoost. Road modification will be powered by a 5.2-liter V8, from Mustang GT350. Capacity of such motor will be about 625 horse powers and 677 Nm of torque.

The road version of the Ford GT was produced from 2003 to 2006. The car was equipped with a 5.4-liter turbo engine, which gave out 550 horse powers and 680 Nm of torque. Maximum speed was electronically limited to 330 kilometers per hour.

Released in 2003, the car was the successor of a racing car Ford GT40 – four-time winner of the race 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1969. Civilian vehicle was similar to race cars design. It is expected that the new generation model will get a similar exterior.
