Ford has officially announced its return to Le Mans

In 2016 brand Ford will put the racing version of the supercar GT at the start of the championship WEC. As was expected, before the start of the “24 Hours of Le Mans” marathon Ford officially announced its future program in endurance racing. The American automaker will return to the 24 Hours Championship in 2016 – 50 years after the victory in this legendary marathon.

The first rumors about the Ford brand return to endurance racing came at the beginning of this year, when the debut of the sports car GT took place in Detroit. Now these conversations are confirmed at the official level – the American automaker is going to take part in the championship WEC and home championship TUDOR United SportsCar. Ford will present two teams with two cars of the GTE Pro class.
