Ford decided to protect passengers of 15-seat bus Transit and the industry’s first full-scale invented a safety cushion in the form of curtains. It was specifically designed to “help provide increased protection for the head and neck in the event of a side impact or rollover.”

In size, it is approximately three times more than conventional side airbag ordinary sedan, and works the same as a traditional system. The Ford claims that, despite the much greater volume of gas cushion inflates instantly and has been designed in such a way to turn around evenly.
Pillow, developed in conjunction with a global supplier of active and passive safety TRW Automotive, is 4.6 meters in length.
