The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published official data on fuel consumption of supercar Ford GT of the new generation. Despite the impressive increase of power, the fuel consumption of the novelty is almost the same as its predecessor’s.

According to the presented EPA data, the supercar Ford GT new generation in city mode consumes about 21.4 liters per hundred ways. On the highway fuel consumption is not less than 13 liters per 100 kilometers. The claimed average fuel consumption is about 16.8 liters per hundred kilometers. It is noted that the average fuel consumption of the new Ford GT and the one that was released in the period from 2004 to 2006, is almost identical.

However, it is worth mentioning that the supercar Ford GT new generation is less efficient. Its predecessor needed about 19.6 liters in the city, and 12.4 liters on the highway. We remind that the new generation of the model is equipped with 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine EcoBoost generating a little more than 600 hp. In turn, the “old” Ford GT (2004 – 2006 years) was equipped with 5.4-liter V8 engine producing 550 hp. Experts explain the rather strange data of EPA by modified methodology of calculations.
