The new generation Ford Ranger 2019 (part 1)

The new generation Ford Ranger pickup was specially created for the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The main features of the new Ford are a modern and stylish exterior design, comfortable cabin with a rich set of modern equipment, advanced security systems, a powerful petrol four-cylinder 2.3 EcoBoost engine. Production of the novelty starts in the fall of 2018 at the Ford Motors Company in Michigan. The US sales are planned for the beginning of 2019. The price is not announced yet.

For the new generation pick-up the carmakers offered only one engine. This is four-cylinder petrol 2.3 EcoBoost with a capacity of more than 250 horsepower. The motor is mated to 10-step automatic transmission. The same engine is also installed under Ford Edge crossover’s hood, but paired with the 8-step automatics.

The package is supplied by front independent suspension with double wishbones and Monotube shock absorbers, rear dependent suspension with a bridge. Standard pickup’s drive system is rear-wheel 2 WD, but 4 WD versions are also possible. The most advanced version will be available with FX4 Off-Road package that includes Terrain Management System with 4 driving modes as well as Ford Trail Control, which helps the driver when driving at low speeds on difficult to pass roads.
